call for entries: hand-crafted cameras

f295 is working with the Society for Contemporary Craft to hold an exhibition of self-made/hand-crafted cameras (and their images) to be part of the 2007 f295 Lensless Imaging and Alternative Process Symposium. To enter send a picture of your self-made camera and one or two images made with that camera via email to: All cameras must be entirely self-made or adapted from existing material. For example: a mailbox adapted to be a camera will be considered, but a simple camera adaptation (lens removed, pinhole inserted) will not.

This call for entry is currently only for f295 members (members as of 9 June 2006).

Cameras do not have to be pinhole, but must be self made.

To be considered submissions must include:

  • A picture of both the camera and an image made with that camera.
  • no larger than 1000x1000px at 72dpi
  • Size and material specifics about the camera (and any other information that make it unique)
  • if your camera is/was made from a perishable material, a photograph of the camera may be considered for inclusion in the show.
  • Your full name, forum username & complete mailing address
  • The camera & print(s) must be able to be shipped or delivered to Pittsburgh, PA USA for exhibition April – June 2007
